James B. Strohacker, President of Becket & Company yacht management services, aboard a Grand Banks
Eastbay 55.

James B. Strohacker founded Becket & Company in May 2009, creating an organization of skilled, certified yacht management professionals dedicated to representing yacht owners as a true advocate and partner.

Strohacker spent much of his youth on the water, running lobster yachts and sailing along the shores of coastal Maine. While a student at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, he apprenticed at renowned wooden boat builder Richard Pulsifer’s shop, working on 15 boats and building two boats of his own. After three years working alongside Pulsifer, Strohacker possessed a solid understanding of naval architecture, but also a strong appreciation for Pulsifer’s commitment to detail and craftsmanship. These are the key tenets from which Becket & Company operates.

In 2004, Strohacker joined The Hinckley Company® as manager of the demonstrator fleet. He went on to be senior trainer in Hinckley’s new owner orientation program as well as sales event manager. Strohacker educated and trained hundreds of new Hinckley jet boat owners, teaching them how to operate and maintain their boats. Strohacker also spent thousands of hours running boats, providing vital feedback on new products, and coordinating service, engineering, and production departments to meet customer needs and expectations — on time.

These experiences, coupled with an MBA from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, provide the foundation upon which Becket & Company is built. When you partner with Becket & Company, you elect to work with a completely independent advocate that will provide a turnkey boating experience and ensure you ENJOY EVERY MOMENT® aboard your yacht.
